Tomorrow is Bete’s birthday, right?
B: É, você vai para a festinha dela?
Yeah, are you going to her party?
  A: Preciso levar alguma coisa?
Do I need to take anything?
B: Não, é uma coisa bem informal mesmo.
No, it’s really an informal thing.

Hello Orlando, I just noticed that in the last line, it said “bem informal mesmo” but not bem informal mesma. Isn’t it supposed to be mesma? Obrigada, uma lição muito bem mesma!

OK, mesmo vs mesma. Sometimes “mesmo” functions as an adjective, in which case it need to agree in number and gender: mesmo livro, mesma casa, mesmos homens, mesmas mulheres. But other times “mesmo” functions as an adverb, in which case there is only one form, “mesmo”: Maria gostou da casa mesmo!
